PRELUDE
This guide will help you install and configure the software needed to implement realtime convolution reverb with Hauptwerk in a 64-bit environment. (These instructions may also be used with a 32-bit
operating system, in this case, "c:\program files (x86)" will correspond to "c:\program files")
A few weeks ago, I upgraded my computer to Windows XP 64-bit and 8GB of memory. After reading many threads on Hauptwerk's forums, I realized that there wasn't any practical solution to add reverb, especially convolution reverb in a 64-bit environment.
After more reading and research, I found what I thought to be a viable solution. Sonar as a VST host application, Hauptwerk as a VSTI instrument, and Voxengo Pristine Space (PS) as a VST plugin proves to be a working combination. Sonar, with its bit-bridge technology, can run 32 & 64-bit VST plugins and VSTIs in a 64-bit environment.
I downloaded the webtrial version of Sonar 7 (32 bit only) and started experimenting with it, along the with Pristine Space and some of Jiri Zurek wonderful impulse responses (IRs).
Satisfied with the results, I ordered the competitive upgrage of Sonar
7 ($149). When it arrived, I installed the 64-bit version of Sonar and
crossed my fingers, hoping to get the same results, and I did.
I have created this guide to get users up and running with Sonar,
Hautpwerk, and Pristine Space. I hope it is simple enough to follow.
This is only one solution; there are many possible configurations, but
for the moment, I have found this to be the most practical way to
implement convolution reverb in a 64-bit environment.

LET'S GET STARTED
The following applications must be installed (in their default
installation directories):
You will also need some impulse responses from Jiri Zurek's website. They are high quality IRs, available at low cost, and all
come with downloadable demo versions. I strongly encourage you to
acquire some IRs while supporting Mr. Zurek's wonderful work.
