"Amateur reviews"

In this section, I want to share with you my very "amateur" reviews of some of the sample sets available for Hauptwerk. I want to emphasize that I am a amateur organist, so my reviews are based on my "amateur point of view". Simply select the review in the upper right corner.

Knowing this, you might think that the reviews are worthless, after all, who am I to review a set; a professional musicial, organist will be able to better analyse the set, to test it and give a real appreciation of it... and this is true, but don't forget he will gives you is "professional" opinion.

Listen to all the demos on the producers's websites: beautiful demos played by great organists who know exactly how to play the virtual instrument, how to register it and what to play on it. Don't get me wrong, these demos are demonstrating the set as it is, but be honest, haven't you ever received a great sample set, anxiously installed it only to be "a bit disappointed". Of course, if you're like me, you are no Widor or Bach and the organ might not sound the same as what you hear in the demo.. why? Registration, repertoire, way you play.

All in all, I will try to bring you an amateur view of some sets, someone who receive it, install it and enjoy it!! Note that I will review only the sets I personally own and won't be able to compare to other similar sets I don't own (hey sample sets producers... I will be happy to review your sets ;-)
