PRELUDE

You love the organ, love to play it; if you're lucky you can play on a real one on a regular basis, but most of us aren't that lucky and can only play some more or less interesting electronic instruments that are supposed to be reproduce more or less successfully the sound of a pipe organ organ. While some companies are offering high-end electronic instruments, most are expensive, limited in future expansion (adding more keyboards, speakers) and sounds (always use the same sound bank).

Do you dream to play Bach on a Silbermann, Widor on a Cavaillé-Coll or some Zwart on the Bovenkerk-Kampen's Hinsz organ; how about playing on an intimate organ, 10-15 ranks, from the 17th century or a modern 21st Century 92 ranks modern organ like the PAB. All of this is now possible, switching from one organ to the other in less than 2-3 minutes. Thanks to Hauptwerk you can access a library of more than 100 organs (new one are added on a regular basis)

But onlike some commercial organs available, where you go to the store, select the model that you want and have it delivered at your home, Hauptwerk is a software, and software means that you need a computer. Of course you will need some input devices also (computer lingo!), in this case, keyboards, pedalboard, swell pedals and some output devices: speakers, subwoofers or headphones and all of that must be set-up, configured, connected and optimised before you finally have your dream instrument.

Most Hauptwerk users are successfully building their dream organ, but like any technical projects you may need guidance to plan a new system or expand an existing one, get help with a specific problems. Other users, not technologically incline or looking for a fast way to enjoy their new instrument want to get a plug-and-play system. Now they have an alternative to commercial organs, but with the modularity, quality and cost that only Hauptwerk can offer; knowing that help is just an internet connection away. From a simple recommendation to a complete ready to play system I can help you and have solutions for you.

THE SOLUTIONS - MY SERVICES

Thanks to technology, to the internet, it is now easy to provide you with the support and service needed to fully enjoy your Hauptwerk system. Physically, I'm located in Quebec City, Canada (being French Canadian, please excuse my English...), but virtually I'm everywhere. With a high-speed internet access I will be able to assist you with your system. I'm providing "custom made" solutions, adapted for your needs and budget.

For someone thinking about getting a brand new Hauptwerk system here how I proceed:

- First contact: Exchange of emails so I can learn a bit about you. Your skill level (as a musician and computer user), the style of organ you're looking for, what the instrument will be used for (practice, home, church), budget etc. Based on this first contact I will be able to give you some detailled explanations and information so you will be able to understand what I will propose and allow you to understand the choices you will make.

- Elaboration of the project: A detailled proposition for all the hardware, softwares needed; final estimate for the project; upgrade path possible (an Hauptwerk system is modular and can easily be expand in the future).

- Purchase of the equipments needed and installation: Here, we have many solutions: I buy everything for you, do the setup, configuration and optimisation of the system, document the system, label every connectors & cables and ship you everything. Upon reception of the material, you put everything together and then work with you remotely to get you started.

Another solution is to buy locally some or all of the hardware using the detailed specifications I will provide you, then, once the computer connected to the internet, we will work together and wil remotely do all configuration, assist you into getting everything up and running.

- After installation follow-up and future needs: Usually after a few days of using Hauptwerk, you will have question, want to fine-tune your installation, better adapt the system to your environment. Once again, I will gladly answer your questions and set your system to your liking.

You already own Hauptwerk:

But have some questions about its use, feel that you could get better sound, have audio glitches, would like to use dry sampleset with convolution reverb, think about upgrading your sound system, replace your computer etc. Once again I will be able to provide you will professional recommendations, help you optimise and set up your system.
